Reading Teresa Decker

For November I am helping spread the word about writers I’ve come across on Medium and truly enjoyed. How? By sharing two writers a week across my social media and pro networks as well as here on Medium. I’m a big believer in supporting writers on every step of their journey. But talking about it isn’t enough. So now it’s time to put some of that passion into action.

Let’s begin.

I’ve known who I was going to feature first for a couple of days now. Teresa Decker

Authenticity is something we talk about a lot. Writers, marketers, and entrepreneurs like to brag about how authentic they are. Usually, it’s just a well-curated dance for the social media feeds. Very rarely does it actually involve opening yourself up and being truly vulnerable.

It’s why I like reading Teresa’s work.

Here is a writer unafraid of just letting it all out on the page. It’s not carefully curated. Instead, it’s the real thoughts of a real human being. There is a level of vulnerability I rarely see her. Something that many of us shy away from.

But I love courage.

More writers should be this courageous.

More writers could also stand to be more open and authentic like this.

You should pop on over and read some of Teresa’s work.

I did.

And I don’t regret it.

Thanks, Teresa for being authentic, open, and contributing to the greater story. I look forward to seeing what comes next.
