The calves consist of two muscles: the gastrocnemius and the soleus.

The gastrocnemius is larger and makes up most of the lower leg size. In contrast, the soleus is slightly smaller and connects the calves to the ankles.

Sit on a chair with your feet at hip-width.

Raise your heels off the floor while keeping the ball of your feet in place. Squeeze your calves and then lower your heels to a bit above the ground.

Keep your heels elevated throughout the set to keep tension on your calves.

Start in a standing position with your feet hip-width apart.
