Keep Wearing Your Mask

As COVID cases continue to dramatically rise throughout the country, it is more important than ever to ALWAYS wear a mask when outside of your home and unable to maintain social distancing. The coronavirus has been worse than when it started in March; the infection rate has skyrocketed, ICU beds are full, hospitals are overcrowded, and the daily deaths across the country are higher than ever before. Irrespective of all of this, every day, many people are still reluctant to wear a mask. Not wearing a mask is not only harmful to others, but is also dangerous for themselves and their families. Masks protect other people; people who may be outside picking up a cup of coffee at Starbucks, doing the family grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s, waiting to get into the UPS store to ship holiday presents to their families, or getting their temperatures taken before entering their school buildings. Masks protect ourselves and others. Why risk your life and your family’s by not following a regulation so simple as wearing a mask? Why endanger the rest of us? Think about the pernicious effects of the virus and the long-term toll becoming infected with it can have on you and your family before choosing to not listen to medical experts and doctors who advise that wearing masks is necessary in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. We all have COVID-19 fatigue, but the end is hopefully near. Now is not the time to let up on fighting this. Stay home. Get tested. Social distance. Wear a mask.
